Incredible 8 breeding pairs of Great Grey Owl were found in 2012 in Lublin area, Poland. At least 6 pairs hatched 18 and fledged 7-14 chicks.

Second breeding in Poland (and Europe outside Scandinavia and CIS) after two pairs in 2010 and none in 2011.

Would-be foreign twitchers are perhaps better asked to see the species at its well-known Scandinavian haunts, as this is rather sensitive population.
