Not a great angle sorry but could this be a Flycatcher of some kind
Taken near the coast in November 2019

Should be Pac-slope/Cordilleran (more likely just because it's more abundant) or Willow. No chance of getting an ID though from those photos, I fear.

Could be a Greater Pewee with that big bill and completely orange lower mandible. A few feathers sticking out on top of the head in the first photo could be a hint of a crest.

Greater Pewee is not found near the coast, though... it is a mountain species.

Looks good for a Western-type Flycatcher and in the lowlands of western Mexico should be Pacific-slope based on currently accepted species limits.

But agree that the bird overall looks better for an empidonax
