Rare and Scarce Birds in Warwickshire (6 Viewers)

Has anyone got an update on this bird; the report hit the pager at 1:47pm but there was no time for the sighting.

Edit: RBA report no sign between 3:00pm and dusk

No sign of it this evening, although I think birders were only scanning from the road as the field it was seen in is private. If anyone's going tomorrow check out Streetmap OS map as there seems to be a public footpath from the village that should be worth checking too.

This will be the 3rd county record if accepted, as one was found at a private site in 2009 but the landowner didn't want news being put out. Bird stayed for around a month!

No sign 3pm to dusk - I'm sure Mr Archer will update later as he found it in his home village in a stubble field near his house. Might be worth looking on his blog later but I heard he was planning to seed an area closer to the road as the viewing would be difficult otherwise.

Cheers Ian - the thought of Adam spreading his seed has put me off my tea :eek!:

White-rumped Sand

Flushed from the DBP North pit the bird flew over Fisher's mill viewed from West of DBP north pit, it was almost lost to sight through my binoculars it then took a swing right and eventually returned to the north pit. Seen by myself, Steve Richards and friend, John Morgan and Peter Burton.

Regards, John

There are no records of White-rumped Sandpiper for Warwickshire in the New Birds of The West Midlands.

As we drove along Bromsgrove Rd about 11.0 this morning, spotted at least 4 Waxwing in an garden tree (no berries); between Node Hill Close and Littlewood Green.

Waxwings in Stratford-upon-Avon

Found 5 Waxwings on Bishopton Lane this morning, 100 yds south of canal bridge. They are trying to feed on a single small Sorbus but constantly being chased away by two Mistle Thrushes. Good close views though.
