Hi all.
I am after information from anyone who has stayed at Resaurante Ecologico Los Cocodrilos near Carara National Park on the mid Pacific coast of Costa Rica. I have been unable to contact them but was wandering what my chances are of getting a bed if I just turn up. I know members of this forum have stayed there in th past so any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I actually stayed there last week. Although I am prety sure you could show up and get a room, I will never stay there again and can't recommend it to anyone. Without a doubt the worst place I have stayed in Costa Rica- $20 for very basic room with mostly broken fan, problems with door lock, no water in shower- not that I wanted to shower there anyways- dirty, hole in shower ceiling that allowed a bat to come in and walk around shower floor. This, combined with its location near livestock might even be cause for concern about vampire bats.
The restaurant is also not so worth it- air food but overpriced. A better bet for lunch is the Guacimo Soda - 5 minutes up the road towards San Jose on the right. Better food at better prices and fair dry forest birding.
