Ring necked Dove egg help (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I have a lovely pair of Doves nesting in my garden. They have always had 1 on the nest. This morning I noticed the nest was empty. I went to look and saw an egg had slightly fallen. I left it alone to see if they returned but they hadn’t so I carefully managed to get the egg back onto the nest wearing gloves. I suspect it’s too late and the egg isn’t going to hatch any more. The Doves are in the garden still. Does anyone know if they are likely to return to the nest at all?

Thank youIMG_6368.jpeg

Hi, welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. I have no idea if they will or won’t. I would just stay away from the nest and see what happens.

Welcome - agree with Lisa - there is nothing you can do! Let nature take its course!

PS you aren’t really supposed to post pics of nests.
