Went to Minsmere in Suffolk, last Thursday, quite quiet but a few good birds seen, Stone Curlew and Purple Sandpiper notable sightings and Millions of Dragonflies, seeing loads of Dragonflies everywhere I go at the moment, think they have had a good year. Didn't get the Bittern I was hoping for but did manage a few Beardies!! Lifer in the Café as well with a delicious slice of tornado cake!! Lots of Pics on the Blog including some Dragonflies I'm not sure of, so if anyone gets a chance be nice if they could ID them for me ,I know it's lazy!!

I have not been to Minsmere for 11 years. It would be nice to go again especially as an improved birder. I hope I go there again some point!
Still a great reserve, probably best in the spring when the Bitterns are booming and the Marsh Harriers are displaying but usually something good whenever you go! Best to get there early though lots of non-birders from about 11AM onwards!! especially around the café!!
