Sad little sparrow (1 Viewer)

Hi , thank you for accepting me. I’m worried about a little sparrow who keeps sitting on my patio door handle and, fluttering at the window. He’s been doing this for a few days.
Any ideas on what is happening and, anything I can do for him ? .
TIA

Welcome to Birdforum.

It is possible that it can see its reflection in the glass and thinks there is a rival.

Or it is possible that it is feeding from insects.

Hi Cotswold bird lover and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

At this time of year it's most likely to be territorial defence - most likely due to him seeing his reflection in the glass and attacking the perceived intruder.

If it worries you, try to put something behind the glass to block or break up the reflection. Not so easy with a door though.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will us a friendly and helpful group.

Hi again, I’ve attached a picture of my sad Sparrow. He doesn’t do anything apart from sit on this handle. I’m wondering if he’s lost his partner 😢.
