Sharp-tailed or Pec Sand? NZ (1 Viewer)

I’ve tried three times for the Pec Sands at a wetland here in Canterbury, NZ, but I’ve only found Sharpies on previous visits and I believe today was no different. I just wanted to check that this is definitely a sharpie and not a Pec sandpiper? Thanks!

Hmm not sure we can rule out sharpie. Dark cf chestnut cap favours pectoral. However, legs not bright yellow, bill base dull, and no clear pectoral band. But the photo's not great...

...Sorry: my advice is have another crack at it...

I have seen 100x as many Pectorals as Sharp-taileds, including regularly seeing Pectoral up until a couple of weeks ago when I changed continents. This looks like a Sharp-tailed to me, jizz is off for Pectoral, the bill particularly to my eye.

Thanks everyone, I suspected it was a Sharp-tailed too, it’s getting strange because there are supposedly three of each there, but I keep finding more than three Sharpies and no Pecs!
