slide copiers (1 Viewer)

Has anyone used a slide copier with success. Without spending 400 plus dollars I just can't seem to get good reproductions from old 35mm slides.

Are you thinking of an adaptor to place in front of a camera? I have one of those which I bought together with my old coolpix 4500. Results were not great but usable:

I think all three were uploaded here as new to the gallery, the initial slide did not look extremely great either.

Actually more on the line of a scanner/copier anything to get to the digital format. Those pics you showed do not look bad at all and that was done by taking a picture of a slide?

Yes, the Nikon adapter is named ES-E28 and screws into the end of the lens on some of the small coolpix cameras. I assume it should still be usable on a newer one with a 28mm lens thread, as long as the camera has a macro that allows focusing really close. The coolpix P6000 looks like a current camera that probably would be able to do this (even though I have no experience with it). The adapter itself? I have not searched, but would not be surprised if Ebay was the place.

A dedicated slide scanner should according to previous discussions have several advantages, but I have no personal experience. Purchase through Ebay with a plan of selling again through same forum has been proposed as a way to make this an economically viable alternative.
