Small slender sparrow with brown head (12 Viewers)

This little sparrow jumped high when startled by other birds. It seemed to be more slender and longer-tailed than the other sparrows. In the photos there is a white-throated sparrow near it (with stripes on the head). The mystery sparrow has a dark blotch on its breast, an "eyeglasses side support" marking on the side of the face, gray on the neck, and a brown-topped head. In photos with the white throated sparrow, the mystery bird is at the back. One photo is a composite, showing it leaping in the air on the left. Northern New Jersey, 1 March 2015
