Song Sparrow? (1 Viewer)

Certainly looks like it.

However, on the first picture, the streaks appear more reddish than they did on my Song Sparrow, suggesting that your bird might be a Fox Sparrow.

Of course, there's always something on the birds that says otherwise.

This is a different bird - the breast is more streaked than spotted.

This does look like a Song Sparrow to me, or at least my distant memories of one :)

Yes, the second bird has the streaking and central spot of the Song Sparrow, and its dark submalar stripe. From behind, of course, Fox Sparrow has an unstreaked back. I see that this particular bird is paler than any of Sibley's illustrated variations of Song Sparrow, and could I suppose be mistaken for a Savannah but for the creaminess of the malar stripe and the strongly marked crown.

I agree with Jane, it looks like you have photos of two different species. The initial one still looks like a Fox Sparrow to me, and your more recent photos look like a Song Sparrow.

Okay, I think that this is the same bird I saw yesterday. Song sparrow?
I wouldn't want to make a guess on the original picture, it's just too dark etc. for me, but the second certainly appears to be of a Song Sparrow even thopugh it is a bit lighter in colour than the ones at my feeder. Song Sparrows do seem to be somewhat variable in dark/light plumage.
I just took another look at them and there is one out there, mixed in with the Juncos and several darker Song Sparrows, that is a bit lighter than the others.
