Sparrows and herbs! (1 Viewer)

Today I was watching a group of 4 House Sparrows stripping the leaves of the lavender bush. When each had collected a beak full they flew off returning about 15 minutes later.

Anyone know why?

Guess it's because they like an aromatic nest! They are stripping our Artemesia "Powis Castle" which smells a bit like lavender, but has much softer leaves. They are fighting for the best bits!
