Stuck hood on Ed 82 (1 Viewer)

Anyone had an issue with the lens hood rattling about when pulled out but very tight when fully home.

Yes mine does the same, but it does not effect the veiw. If you only pull it part way out is it O.K.
Must be a design fault ?

Yes that’s exactly what it does, comes out halfway fine then just wobbles. Hood still useable to the halfway mark. Sent it to Nikon uk but as it was out of support date they couldn’t do anything with it no parts available but at least they tried and paid postage both ways. Also tried a well known independent repairer but no luck there either. Like you say doesn’t really affect the scope, just annoying😩

The easiest workaround is not to use the hood at all. Use a screw-in hood instead.
