Going back through my photographs from Uganda in November 2022, I noticed a female sunbird I left unidentified at the time. In my eBird checklist at the time I noted a sunbird sp. and described a briefly seen male, "Black with blue back, long bill". That's consistent with Superb Sunbird, if light made the green back blue and deep maroon belly black. The photograph shows a female with a long bill and yellow supercilium, so I've gone with the identification in eBird. We were without a bird guide at the time, as we were at the lodge during lunch break between forays with local guides.
So do I have the identification right? It's a lifer.
Cheers, Jeff
