Swallows or Martins yesterday (1 Viewer)

I’m not able to id this bird accurately some help please.
I see small flock of these app 6 flying over the river and then I’m sure they were using the river bank Chester le Street hedgerows would they breed in such places

These are Sand Martins - and, yes, they nest in riverbanks. Distinguishing features are brown back and rump plus band across the chest. They also have a much more ‘fluttery’ flight than swallows or House Martins
