Swamp Warbler? - Botswana (1 Viewer)

Hmmm. That's funny

Here is a bird I have provisionally identified as a Greater Swamp Warbler (A. rufescens), but the rusty flanks, short tail, and eye pattern bother me and I wonder if it could be a Lesser Swamp Warbler (A. gracilirostris). It was in papyrus photographed from a boat. 30 July 2023. Okavango River, Downstream from Xaro Lodge, North-West, Botswana.

Please advise. Thanks.

Sorry to revive this but how do we eliminate Common (African) Reed Warbler? The legs seem brownish, not black.

Legs, toes and claws are clearly stronger in Swamp Warblers compared to African Reed... Further, bill is too long and wings too short
