Whilst I was Birding yesterday I heard the sound of Swifts in Musselburgh so they have arrived here so that is exciting not seen any Swallows yet.
Not sure I didn't actually see any Starlings either. That’s really early for swifts. I sometimes hear starlings making a similar noise - could that have been what it was?
Was at Musselburgh yesterday from 7am until 2:30. At one point there were up to 30 birders there - White-winged Scoter.
Swallow(s?) and Sand Martin(s?) were present but certainly no sign of any Swifts.
Were you at the Lagoons? I was at The River Esk and there wasn't any other birders there.

That's interesting, because they have definitely arrived in Leeds. I see least one on an almost daily basis now. One of them yesterday was flying rather low, so might have been nesting in the area (or looking for a nesting site).
