Switzerland 2024 (3 Viewers)

A bit late to the party but merry christmas / happy holidays to all as well.

30C here in the Andamans, not missing the N European winter I have to be honest though it’s been a while since I’ve been home and I have to admit I miss it a bit. I’ll stick w/ the Indian weather and food though please :ROFLMAO: Next stop Karnataka and Kerala!

Breaking News:
  • Lapland Longspur (nee Bunting) reported at Vauffelin (BE)
It doesn’t seem (to me at least) to be correct, it’s a heard only job, the recording posted on Ornitho.ch is of a singing ‘bird’ (which is all wrong for mid winter for this species!) and sounds unnatural to me.
Naturally I have my hat beside me in case I end up having to eat it ;)

A brief visit to local sites on this crisp, cold but sunny new day...
Some 30 species seen or heard. Nothing really special but so good to get out there.
Highlights included a pair of Red Kites dancing in the sky, Kingfisher, Redwing, possible Hawfinch, Fieldfare, Goosanders, and Wigeon.
