I have named it after Mr. Ivers Bland, who brought me the first specimen obtained.

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims
Black-throated Barbet ssp. Tricholaema melanocephala blandi E. L. Phillips, 1897
Ivers Bland (d.1903) was a member of the BOU and was in Somalia (1896–1897) on an expedition with the describer.

The Key to Scientific Names
Ivers Bland (d. 1903) British collector in Somalia 1896-1897 (subsp. Tricholaema melanocephala).

Is it him here?
