Twenty Questions: USA Bird Quiz (1 Viewer)

8. Is it a Buteo hawk? No
9. Is it an accipiter? No
10. Is it larger than a peregrine? About the same size, 16 inches, but weighs less.

Doh! Thought that white underparts had clinched it! Non migratory, non Buteo, same size as Peregrine but not as heavy?? Assume it is a US bird ?. . . (since that's the title of the quiz!) . . . oh well!

(Unless you're counting part of the underparts and its Aplomado Falcon . . . )

*Note: This is a USA Bird Quiz, but that does not necessarily mean that the bird might not also live in other areas of the world.

I think "raptor" could be more inclusive than we think, so we could be barking up the wrong tree right now.

Is it an owl?
