North-eastern Poland, 28th October. I didn't see the birds.
Background species:
Recording 1: No background species
Recording 2: Eurasian Siskin
Recording 3: Crested Tit
I'd be most grateful if you explained to me how you identified the call.

Based on your description, the fact that I can't hear anything on the recordings but Merlin could on the first, I suggest checking out Goldcrest (or Firecrest) calls on xenocanto.

Hi JayFeatherPL, I ran the first sound through the ChirpOMatic analyser (for the background species) and it thinks Goldcrest. It also confirmed your identifications of the high-pitched sounds in the second and third recordings :)

Do you want to identify the foreground birds or the high-pitched background birds?

The background birds were making their "typical" calls - Siskin "piuuu" and Crested Tit "trrr trrr".
The unknown calls are the high-pitched 'see-see-see" calls.
