Unsure of these 'shrooms (1 Viewer)

A few from a walk in my local woods (mixed conifer and broadleaf) that I'd like some ID help with.

The first two look like Amanitas to me. There were a lot of Blushers in these woods but the first is a bit different and I was wondering about Panther. The second has me beat closest I seen is A. porphyria.

Continued in next thread.

As you say, the first does look like a Panther cap, in that the 'spots' on the cap are relatively evenly distributed, and whitish. But if you look at the base, you can see no gap between the bulb and the stem, which is more consistent with A. excelsa. It is a pity the ring is not visible. I think this is A. excelsa, but I am not 100% certain.

As to the second, I do not think it is A. porphyria, but I would not like to speculate. There is a wide variation in the A. excelsa, A. rubescens, A. pantherina group, and they are sometimes not easy.
