A Barn Swallow has returned to a regular nesting site in the village pub's smoking annex. This year another has joined. There's usually one here every year, seemingly not bothered about the customers drinking, smoking and talking loudly every day. Its a busy area and stinks of smoke but that doesn't appear to put them off.
It can't be good for their breathing but the adults and youngsters survive no matter what.
Last winter during a cold spell, a pigeon roosted here for a few nights.
The village generally does well for Common Swift and House Martin. There's several old buildings with roofs suitable for nest building.
