Upton Warren (121 Viewers)

A colour-ringed/flagged Curlew at the Flashes this afternoon. This one has a yellow flag bearing the code L5 with a plain white ring underneath on the left tibia and a plain yellow ring on the right tibia. This bird was ringed last year near Worcester and seems to have spent the winter on the River Taw in Devon.

There were also seven darvic-ringed BHGs this afternoon at the Flashes, all returning/regular birds - 24H0 (black characters on a white ring), also seen earlier from the East hide at the Moors; TACY (black on yellow); 21L1 (black on white); 2ALA (white on black); 2C20 (white on red); 2CAT (white on black); 2E90 (white on dark blue). Details attached relating to three of the seven birds.

The Tawny Owl also showed intermittently and a Green Sandpiper dropped in.

Leg-flagged Curlew L5 in again this evening along with 12 other Curlews.
Five of last night's seven darvic-ringed BHGs also appeared, along with the pair of Goosanders.
Single Avocet, 4 Oystercatchers & a brief Green Sandpiper also present.
Grey Wagtail was my first at Upton this year.
No sign of yesterday's Tawny Owl.

Great afternoon, especially meeting Hughie :)
