Hello everyone! I am new to the forum. I’m from South Africa and I am in Switzerland and Germany for a few weeks and would like to see some of the iconic birds aswell as just get a general impression of bird life in Switzerland/ Germany. I am based in Lörrach for a few days. I would really like to see the Wallcreeper (Mauerläufer). I am planning to go to the Gysnauflüe in Burgdorf which is supposed to be a good spot for them. Is it a reliable spot for them? Are there any other good birds one can see in this area?
In general I would love some information on good birding spots around North Switzerland.

Salut!

Hi WallcreeperWenzel and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. I think you'd be better to ask your questions in the Information Wanted forum as more people are likely to see it there.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Wenzel -have a look on my thread:

Best local places in Switzerland near Lorrach:

  • Nuglar (SO)
  • St.Ursanne (JU)
  • Burgdorf(BE)
Also look on Ornitho.ch for whats been seen per day

Hope this helps

Mike
