Warbler? Lauwersmeer, Netherlands (1 Viewer)

Hello, I have another question, this time a presumed warbler heard today at Lauwersmeer, in the Netherlands. The bird appeared to be in reeds in a small pond. It sang intermittently, and this is the only recording I managed. Obviously it's early in the season for most warblers, which hopefully will narrow it down!

Sounds like a hybrid of a Goldfinch and a Marsh Warbler. Not very likely.

Hard to hear, I have to use better speakers to listen to the recording

What other birds were singing there? Did you see them?

You can expect anything there, even the rarest birds.

That would be an interesting one! :)

There were goldfinches in the area that day, but I didn't notice them at the time; skylarks, chiffchaffs, robins, great/blue tit, and white wagtails were the ones I noticed while the mystery bird was singing.

Good one! Probably I looked too much at ''appeared to be in reeds'' :)
I did make it easier for myself by downloading the recording and using Audacity to amplify the volume and filter out the low frequency background noise on the recording - basically everything below 500Hz was removed using the high-pass filter filter function. I use Audacity a lot with my own recordings made using my phone and find it pretty good for freely available software.

At my local patch Pied Wagtails roost in the reeds and are frequently in them or nearby, but I understand and have done that myself in other situations.
