Always finding a way to go off topic...

Hello all, I had this photograph sent to me on a group chat and we are all quite confused as to what it is. I immediately thought Reed Warbler, but I think it seems off for one? Opinions needed please.1667745801046.png
Many thanks,

Hello Ev,
ita a Chiffchaff imo. Please note
  • obvious olive-green hues lacking brownish hues
  • yellow patch near the wingbend
  • notched tail
All this is not good for an Acro, but good for a Phylloscopus.

Hues, dark legs and short pp makes this a Chiffchaff imo. But what an obvious broad supercilium and a long bill. Tfs!

Hi Alexander, yeah I was very intrigued by the length of the bill more so than the supercilium. The bird also had a sort of 'crested' look which is why I defaulted to reed warbler. An intriguing bird for sure and I hope for more to comment.
