Could you possibly post photos in the 'conventional' way (whatever that is, sorry can't help you there), so that they load quickly and we see a thumbnail? Very cumbersome to view them posted as they are here.
Also best not to put more than 4-5 in one post, as BF is then liable to jumble them up - and people are inhibited from commenting on lots of pics at once.

I’m posting them normal… how do I post them conventionally?

I think if I crop them might help the issue.

Your images are rather large. If you keep size below 1 mb or maybe 1.5 mb, they display directly for most people. For the ones I have seen,. some cropping certainly would hurt, and you'd easily get within 1 MB without affect image quality. :D

Cropping, yes That might help, I was wondering why you had such an interest in telegraph poles!;)
Hope you don’t mind me asking but how do you go about a few hours’ birding? Do you have a good look first at the bird with binoculars to see how it moves, any calls it makes, colours and plumage details before reeling off a few photos for example? It’s the best way to learn in my view! Which Bird Guide Book/App do you consult before posting to Birdforum for help?
The first two photos could be Bonelli’s Warbler perhaps.

Im struggling with the ordering too

Anyway, I also get a strong Bonellis warbler vibe on the first two. I thought Melodious but then was put off by the whitethroat on the photo peeking around the corner of the telegraph pole - which made me think Marsh but I think thats best left for the experts...

Lmao, no I usually do not ask for help unless it’s abroad. I also thought bonelli’s but there weren’t any reports from around my area. I usually photograph birds that are further away, that are not clear in my binoculars. I like to get second opinions before jumping to a conclusion.

I don’t know the calls of none UK birds. Just learnt the melodious call by listening.

Also the leaf warblers are just hard in general 😅.

Apologies that one peaking behind the telephone pole is a definitive white throat. I posted the wrong pic!

Comments appreciated Butty and all others. My Son has very little experience with cameras, editing and the like and I gave him a Canon 5D mk II, a 100-400mm canon lens and an editing program to take with him basically for ID shots and he's still finding his way around the whole kit, with obvious enthusiasm. We will go through it on his return.

Hello,

No offence you know: I dont have problems to view large images, so thats not a problem for me. And I have an advantage and can ID them.
And I agree with Butty: other threads here have shown that there is regular a change in the order of pictures, when many are posted in one thread. This one seems one more example for me.

Therefore I try to name the pictures and I hope this doesnt add to confusion:

Picture 1 and 2: thanks Rafael for ID of the 1cy Warbler. I think its a Chiffchaff too, but those fresh juvenile birds are hard for me (despite having seen many Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers during the years) and I think I havent seen enough Western Bonellis Warbler to be confident in ID.

The bird on a telegraf wire: I agree with you, its a Melodious Warbler. Just by overall colouration an and the appearant short wings in relation to the tail tip. Yes, and location and your ID from the field.
You know the excellent site by Johannes Honold and: Ralph Martin? Orpheusspötter und Gelbspötter

The Blackcap is a Blackcap for me too.

The bird in the bush below the telegraph wire: I agree with you its a Common Whitethroat:
  • smooth warm colours and a quite contrasting and pure white throat
  • some (at least) juvenile Common Whitethroats lack an distinct white eye-ring

The most difficult bird for me is the possible Garden Warbler. But it might well be one= I cant find much wrong, and when you identified it in the field, than it is one. Sorry to all: do you have more pictures?

Here's a cropped version of the chiffchaff, sorry for the long wait as I only returned yesterday. I'll do the others later.

Edit- this individual is separate from one that was walking perched around leaves in original post.

Still looks like Bonelli's warbler. What's wrong with face-pattern and leg colour?
I have more photos, however I didn’t bring my PC- I want to specify that the 1-2 are not the same individual as 3 (one in the leaves).

Edit- 3 as in the original thread post not 3 as in the newest reply.
