I received this Gilles Degryse for ID, taken in Djoudj, Senegal.

I've so much lost African birds in my mind ? I've no idea of what it can be. Can you help me ?

That is a decidedly odd looking thing! Given ducks' proclivity for sexual congress beyond the bounds of their species, hybrid has to be the most likely explanation. Between which and what I can't begin to guess at, although there is something Tadornish about it. Any other images?

I guess a hybrid as well. I suspect it has a bit of Egyptian Goose in it. I looked at Egyptian Goose x Ruddy Shelduck in Macaulay and they are not a match, looking too much like RS. There is a photo of Egyptian Goose x Mallard (!) on the web - perhaps closer.
