Anyone else notice this? They love hanging out and hunting together. I've observed this behavior in Dallas Oregon and in Felt Idaho.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)
We're glad you found us and please join in wherever you like. ;)

No fraternizing here. The Butter-butts chase my Bluebirds away.

Perhaps its a Western thing;). When I moved to the west from Minnesota in 2006 I was surprised to see a lot of mixed species flocks foraging together.

Hi Circus and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hmmm, Western Bluebirds in Virginia. Interesting... ;)
My bad! I missed the 'Western', that is true. And I know accuracy matters...

I was just moments ago watching easily at least two dozen EASTERN Bluebirds bathing/gathering in little creek at our back door. They are not at all interested in feeders, and the (common) Yellow Rumped Warblers (also in and around creek) don't seem to interact with them at all, other than they seem to like to bathe/drink at approx same mid-morning time of day.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I am new to Oregon, live in Coos Bay. Can’t wait to learn all about the birds here on the coast.

It's true. In Western Oregon, Audubon's Warblers often hang with flocks of Western Bluebirds, and a few times I've seen Myrtle Warblers mixed in. There was an article in Oregon Birds about it 20 years ago or so. Let's see if I can find a link.

We regularly see these two species hanging out together. At our feeder in SW Corvallis, we almost always see a male of each species fly in and feed on suit or mealworms together. It's quite fascinating to see interspecies interaction.

We live in western Montana.
We have Western Bluebirds in our pastures along with Meadowlarks....very open pastureland.

I usually see warblers in shrubbier habitat.
