Whale trips Monterey in February (1 Viewer)

Anybody been on one of these in February? It'd would be good to have the flexibility of not booking in advance but I don't want to risk not getting a place. Does anyone know if this is likely to be an issue at this time of year?

Not the right time of year, but I did a couple of trips with Monterey Bay Whale Watch back in September 2022. One was booked ahead (one of the longer, birder's special trips) but later on we turned-up on spec and were able to get on, though I think we got the last two places. For the initial, longer trip the booking process required credit card details but when we actually turned-up the payment process was completely separate and wasn't linked to the credit card information so it's not clear if they could take the payment in the event of a no-show. While Monterey Bay Whale Watch have a good recommendation there are also two or three other whale-watching companies operating from the Monterey wharf so there are other options if you do want to turn-up on spec.
