Two ducks swam in the river in Riga, Latvia.
Please help to identify them.

Hi Olga,
These are domestic ducks. Domestic ducks are derived from Mallards, and you can see some of that ancestry in the green head, yellow bill, and curly tail on the darker bird.

For some genetic reason the white front is often present with mallard crosses. They are not “hybrids” because the domestic duck and the mallard are too genetically close!
