I'm rubbish at sea birds, seeing I live in the middle of the country. What is this gull? It was flying around while I was taking shots of buzzards.

There is distinct lack of mirrors, it has a black eye and yellow legs. I thought yellow legged Herring Gulls were from the Baltic area, but omissus types have often more white to exposed primary tips.
I think this a Lesser Black-backed Gull possibly 2nd winter. Although the seems to be some bleaching out of the white areas, might be the expected wear at this time of year or artefact/overexposure (no offense intended), so It might not be.

Old Father Time, when was this taken please?

PS do you realise if you take the 'the' out of Father and the 'ime' in time in your name, you get quite an amusing name? ;)
