Hi everybody,

is it possible to ID this hawk? Maybe a Rough-legged Hawk or a juvenile Broad-winged Hawk?

Seen in Canada, Yukon, Porter Mountain south of Carmacks, 08.July 2014

Thanks a lot,
Christoph

Plumage all wrong for rough-legged hawk, Doesn't have the compact shape of broad-winged hawk (and it would be substantially out of range). Looks fine for (moulting) immature red-tailed hawk.

Yes you're right about range. Must be red-tailed
