Hello...I live in New Jersey and this year for the first time I had a lot of goldfinches at the feeders. The house next door sold and they took down ALL the landscaping yesterday....70 year old trees...everything!! It was loud and all day long. Now the goldfinches are gone. Is there any way I can attract them back to my yard????

I expect it was the noise of the work which scared the birds. They should return once things have settled down.

There is....but I haven't seen anyone stopping this since it happens a lot around here. I have heard of some property owners getting fined. I will call town hall today to inquire. I just hope that the goldfinches return.
