I have found new enjoyment in observing the bird activity in my back yard for the past couple of years, here in northwestern WA state. What started out with one hummingbird feeder, has increased to two (soon to be three) hummingbird feeders, and so far two bird feeders, and a birdbath.
Through the seasons, I've watched as the migrating birds stop by for a quick bite, even stay for a couple of days if stormy, as well as watching the amazing variety of local birds that frequent my back yard feeders.
I have huge back yard, the fence line is next to a huge fir tree, a swarm of blackberry bushes 6 ft tall, and caps the row with an overgrown crab apple tree. Beyond that is a 1/4 mile wide greenbelt, lush with a tall willow tree as a centerpiece to a variety of other trees and bushes tat provide cover for all kinds of birds and animals.
I have a great vantage point from the kitchen window to get some great photographs, and am honing my bird photography as well.
Anyway, that's enough from me for now, grin, and I'm glad to be here!
