This is an earnest question. I'm a little worried. Let me know if you have any insight.
I know others struggled with him sometimes, but I found him harmless.

Dennis is taking some time out to reset, We come to this agreement and have done for many years, troubadour (lee) used to sort
this out but as he has sadly passed, it has been left to admin. For the record he rarely bites back even though he is attacked a lot,
sure he posts the same posts and changes his mind on whatever he deems to be the best Binocular at the time, but that is not against
forum rules.

He unfortunately got into it with another member and they are both taking a rest.

It is as simple as that.

Steve,
One could argue I’m wearing this point out, I get it. Seems ironically this is the explanation for the situation. Perhaps “forum rules” is too strong a way of saying it. Moderators need some guidelines. Members to. The all posts are welcome policy, in fact all posts are sorta equal is not working.

In my five years here that Glare Monster thread, still standing far as I know, was this situation to the extreme. Dennis’ idea of science with lee gone and the thing unchecked so anyone coming to visit looking for quality information would be…. What? Informed? Misled?

The forum rules are very simple; click "Help" at the lower right to find them. A single sentence specifies what will not be tolerated:

"You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws."

Note that there is no mention of persistently false, misleading, irrelevant, prolific, repetitive, or argumentative content being considered a problem. And everything is ultimately just at the discretion of the providers anyway:

"We may remove or modify any Content submitted at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Requests for Content to be removed or modified will be undertaken only at our discretion. We may terminate your access to all or any part of the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice."

That's it. There is nothing to clarify, no point to further discussion.
