I just saw this new visitor to our lake in Brussels. Can anyone help identify please? Thanks, Lawrence

Ringed teal (S America). Or pretty much - not quite field-guide-correct, so I wouldn't swear it's untouched by other genes - or may be eclipse, sub-adult, etc.
 
Brilliant! Thanks a lot! That’s a first for the lake and I really couldn’t match it to any of the usual suspects! I guess it must be an escape indeed.

The feet don't look as pink as they should - that might be due to nutrition if it's not a camera artifact. Am I missing any other differences?
 
Choose your field guide. I've only looked in one. But adult male ringed teal 'should have' all-rufous scapulars+tertials (not just the front half), buff back, buff fore-flanks. (Other sources of info are available and may - for all I know - differ.)
