Year of the Woodpecker continues (1 Viewer)

It's only my first full year of birding, but it seems like I'm seeing a lot of wookpeckers this year.

This morning on my way into work a beautiful Red-Headed Woodpecker flew right in front of me just before I pulled into the parking lot. I did see a juvinile this year already, but this was an adult male. It just made my day! :t:

Yeah, I'm partial to the Woodpeckers as well and have been fortunate in getting just about every one found on the east coast all coming to my yard ;)

I have noticed that there appear to be a lot more downy woodpeckers about the yard this winter.

On the other hand I'm seeing fewer red-bellied woodpeckers.
