Identification
50–60 cm (19¾-23½ in)
- Overall brown plumage
- Whitish streaks on breast
- Gape extends to centre of eye
Distribution
Asia: found in India, Bangladesh and northern Myanmar.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1]. Formerly included in the genus Aquila.
Habitat
Lowland forests and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians.
Breeding
The stick nest is placed in a tree fork. It is lined with green leaves.
