    Good Evening, I've booked a trip to Iceland in Feb next year. I'm looking for any advice as to sites for Barrow's closer to Reykjavik around that time of year. I'm guessing the Gyrs will be around Reykjavik at that time. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

    Around Rotherham

    There's a male Red-Crested Pochard knocking about Rother Valley CP at present. Plus the Gull roost at Orgreave sometimes comes up with a Caspian Gull. Thrybergh CP might be worth a visit for the 1st W male Scaup.

    Hi, I'm considering making a trip up for the Grey Phalarope early tomorrow morning at Alkborough Flats. Where's the best place to park as ive never been to the site before? Any other info would be helpful. Gonna go for the Fudge duck to make it a double aswell if its still around. Cheers

    A couple of hours seawatching at Newbiggin this evening produced: 6 Storm Petrels, 2 Bonxies, 24 Manx, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Dark Phase Arctic Skua, 6 RT Divers. Also a nice summer plumage Grey Plover made an appearance.

    Hi Paul, I walk from St Mary's Island to Holywell pond via the dene on a regular basis. Its a great walk and over the past year i've recorded 143 species inc the self found Temminck Stints. Gives you a great variety of habitats. I'd highly recommend the walk especially with the autumn...

    I was at Cresswell early this morning, the american wigeon eventually put in an appearance around 11ish. The 2 Med gulls seem to arrive just before 10am with a large flock of black-headed gull. Didnt take me long to pick them both out, cracking birds. I Put the report up on the board.

    Iceland Gull was showing well at North Shields at around 8-9 this morning. Was showing between the fish quay and where the ferry docks. Before flying across to the other river bank.

    Scaup a few years ago was one of my bogey birds... always a tricky duck to see each year for me. but a very nice duck none the less.
