A single Lapwing over near the confluence this morning.
6 Greylags over near there
1 Snipe flew from the canal-side near Tapenhall
2 Redpolls in birches at Caulin court
2 Ravens
Siskins
Buzzards
Meadow Pipits
Redwings and Fieldfares
Cormorants

Generally slim pickings and little reward for a c8 mile walk.

2 Snipe flew from the edge of Coney reedbed bordering the river Salwarpe this morning plus another between Salwarpe and Ladywood

A Little Egret flew over near Salwarpe this morning - seen a couple of times and eventually headed towards Westwood.

Large flock of finches and Buntings nearby - mainly Chaffinches with smaller numbers of Yellowhammers, Reed Buntings, Linnets and Goldfinches.

Chiffchaff in full song along the canal between Salwarpe and Ladywood. Early for a migrant and no sign of pollen 'horn' - so maybe one from the sewage works relocated
