Seemed much smaller than a thrush, Scotland (1 Viewer)

I took the attached photos on a freshwater pond in Edinburgh Scotland this morning. Sorry this may simply be a thrush but it seemed quite a bit smaller - almost finch sized.

Thoughts please….

Meadow pipit. You can see the end of the absurdly-long hind claw. Pipits have a smaller, slimmer and more evenly-tapering bill than thrushes.
