Here is a very basic ? exif (1 Viewer)

Image browsers often show the exif data under the picture but if you've got Photoshop/Elements just go to File>File Info and select Exif Data from the drop down box that opens
 
My viewer of choice is the wonderful (and free) IrfanView. You just hit 'I' and then 'E'.

Reading it is one thing. Understanding it is another. :h?:

One of the things that annoys me is that photoshop deletes the exif info. I use a little tool called exifer for viewing and editing pix. It backs up the info before launching ps (or whatever) and allows you to restore it after.
