Black-Headed Heron - South Africa 2017 (Ardea melanocephala)

Often found to be breeding in trees during season. Although no nest is evident it could just be the commencement or the tail end of the breeding season.

LOL Brian... that looks to be a very uncomfortable perch with all those spikes!!!

What a great picture you've taken of him - excellent work here lad. Although you say it's fairly common, we actually don't see pictures of this species coming in too often.
