Juvenile Adelie Penguins Having an Argument, Pygoscelis adeliae
Non-breeding juvenile Adelie Penguins practice building nests with the beach pebbles, then have arguments as they try to steal each other's pebbles. Notice that they have their crests up - a sure sign that they are agro!!!
The adults around about take no notice of the teenagers exploratory behaviours. Cape Adare, Ross Sea, Antarctica.
The colony at Cape Adare is one of the biggest Adelie colonies in the Antarctica.
