Sparrowhawk with prey (from yesterday) (Accipiter nisus)

This 2cy female took a Starling yesterday... looks like the tree pruning hasn't an adverse affect on the Sparrowhawks (trees will grow back next year anyway).

The messy setting is a mixture of tree cuttings and nut shells that is a good place for insects... the Starling wasn't caught there, it was perched in the trees above.

Poor light and through double glazing, and I've blurred the Starling a bit... it was fortunate to die instantly anyway

A super picture you've got Chris. You have to feel a bit sorry for the prey, but it is life afterall.

Very well done my friend.
