Willet
Willet (Tringa semipalmata inornatus) Two subspecies are recognized with both being found in Texas. The nominate subspecies semipalmata breeds in Texas but does not winter here. Semipalmata is generally gone from Texas by the end of July. The western subspecies inornatus is present year round but does not breed here. This is a juvenile western subspecies showing off his beautiful wing primaries. Indian Point Park and Pier, Portland, Nueces County, Texas, USA. Bay side, Corpus Christi Bay.
