It's only Rock and Roller but I like it
From the Flashes today Phil W reports:
Teal 28, Avocet 2, Oystercatcher 2, Shelduck 2, Lapwing 8.
Teal 28, Avocet 2, Oystercatcher 2, Shelduck 2, Lapwing 8.
At the half-way point in March the monthly list presently stands on 82 and the year list on 95. March has recorded an average of 93.83 species with a peak of 97 in 2014 and a low of 90 in 2015.
Hopefully the warm southerly winds predicted from the middle on next week onwards will break the cycle of westerly gales and see a real push of early spring migrants. Potential additions for the remainder of the month include (year ticks in bold):-
Pintail, Garganey, Mandarin, Goosander, Merlin, Osprey, Marsh Harrier, Golden Plover, Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Jack Snipe, Woodcock, Common Sandpiper, GBBG Gull, Mediterranean Gull, Feral Pigeon, Tawny Owl, Little Owl, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Wheatear, Stonechat, Swallow, House Martin, Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Raven, House Sparrow, Brambling, Yellowhammer
March Monthly list includes a wish for a jack snipe.
March 6 I posted pic of what I considered the jack snipe. Did you miss or am I wrong?

When did we have Common Sand this year?
Sorry Phil - must have been distracted by the godwits that day; looks good to me :t:
They both look like Common Snipe to me - barred flanks, head shape, etc??
