The netting of hedgerows and now breeding Sand Martin cliffs is big news at the the minute but the attached takes it one step further. Picture of a telecoms mast not too far away at Lickey End courtesy of Graham Wilkes. Hopefully not coming to the Flashes soon!!

The last accepted record of White-tailed Eagle for Worcestershire was an immature bird shot at Wannerton (near Kidderminster) on the 25th December 1945

Pleased to have noted my earliest Damselfly along the Salwarpe this afternoon. My initial I.D. to J.T.B. of Banded D. was wrong after taking a look at the record photo. Should have been reported as female Beautiful Demoiselle.

White-tailed Eagle is species #243 for the reserve, the previous addition being Ring-billed Gull. The magical 250 mark is drawing ever closer!

Early morning at the Moors Pool Dave J reports:

Grasshopper Warbler, Reed Warbler, 2 Sedge Warbler, 3 Willow Warbler, Little Egret, 2 Meadow Pipit over, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Snipe, 4 Shelduck, 23 Shoveler, 3 Gadwall, 2 Teal.

On Friday (12th) at the Moors Pool Bob Potter had a Little Ringed Plover with coloured leg rings on it - right leg was black, green, silver/grey; left leg was black, red, blue.

This is believed to be the first ringed bird of this species at the reserve.

It appears after closer inspection of my record photos my initial I.D. was correct my earliest Damselfly ever seen on the reserve. Thanks for taking a look Des.

Morning! Yes, I know, long time no hear. Anyway, does anyone know any more about this mast please? I am going there today to speak with the farmer to ask for details.

Any information would be gratefully received.

Please email me - [email protected] - or message me here or on Facebook, Gary Brian Prescott. Text is 07553471341.

Thanks everyone.

I will be down the Warren tomorrow for, hopefully a string of visits! Miss the place.
